Satwik-Chirag Create History, Become First Indian Pair to Win China Masters Men’s Doubles Title

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made history by becoming the first Indian pair to win the China Masters men’s doubles title. They defeated China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in the final to claim their maiden China Masters crown and 10th BWF World Tour title.

Indian badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty created history on Sunday by becoming the first Indian pair to win the China Masters men’s doubles title.

The Indian duo defeated China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu 11-21, 21-13, 21-17 in a thrilling three-game final in Shenzhen. After losing the opening game, **Satwik and Chirag** made a strong comeback and won the next two games to seal the title.

The victory was particularly special for the Indian pair as they had finished runners-up at the China Masters in 2023 and 2025. This time, they finally managed to cross the final hurdle and claim their **maiden China Masters crown.**

The final lasted around 70 minutes. The Chinese pair started strongly and took the first game 21-11, but Satwik and Chirag changed their approach in the second game. Their improved net play, defence and attacking combinations helped them level the match with a **21-13 win.**

The deciding game remained close until the final stages. With the score at 17-17, the Indian pair produced a decisive finish, winning four consecutive points to complete a memorable comeback and lift the trophy.

The China Masters title is also Satwik and Chirag’s **10th BWF World Tour title** and their second title of the 2026 season. Earlier this year, they won the Singapore Open Super 750.

The victory comes at an important time for the Indian duo as they prepare to defend their Asian Games gold medal later this month in Japan.

For Indian badminton, the China Masters triumph marks another significant milestone for the country’s leading men’s doubles pair.
